Dr. Neeti Upasani, Secretary, Maharashtra state IMA WDW, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The sessions included talks by senior women consultants. Dr Anupama Mane enlightened the audience about Basics of breast carcinoma, Dr. Annapurna Kalia, engaged the audience with her quick wit and quirky Bollywood similarities when she spoke about Do Woman have a heart?
Dr. Geeta Dharmatti’s talk Beyond Calories, was a scientific treat which was followed by an in-depth informative session on Good Parenting by Dr. Shailaja Mane. The panel discussion Cultivating Leadership had four strong women doctors, Dr. Vaijayanti Kamat, Dr. Kamal Yadav, Dr. Manisha Doiphode and Dr. Pramila Pansare, talk about qualities of a good leader through their personal experiences. The CME concluded with an interactive workshop on Being Emotionally Intelligent by Dr. Kavita Kareer.
Various competitions were held on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Winners of the Essay competition on the topic Balance for Better – How I do? in Marathi were Dr. Ritu Lokhande & Dr. Shalaka Kanode (Consolation Prize) and in English was Dr. Rashmi Naik. The prize for best attire was won by Dr. Meenal Patvekar and Dr. Trupti Tonape bagged the Best family photo.
Two of the senior most women practitioners in PCMC, Dr. Rekha Burute and Dr. Mahajan were awarded an appreciation award in recognition of their work and long standing service to society. A special edition of the quarterly newsletter SPANDAN, dedicated to the theme Balance for Better, was released during the inauguration ceremony. This unique CME saw participation from approximately 207 delegates.
