IMA PCB with WDW donated 5 electrical Breast Pumps to Yashoda Human milk Bank at DYP Hospital, Pimpri. Lactating mothers express breast milk and donate to needy, emaciated & low birth weight infants in NICU of almost 16 private hospitals from PCMC and PMR and government hospitals like YCMH & Sasoon hospital. Milk is also provided to Newborns from NICUs at other districts like : Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Nashik. Yashoda Human Milk Bank was established on 7th September 2013 under supervision of Dr. Shailaja Mane, Dr. Sharad Agarkhedkar and their team with the help of Rotary Club of Nariman point, Mumbai who donated basic equipments. Infrastructure and day-to-day running expenses are borne by the Institute. Free of cost services are provided for the community including distribution of Pasteurised Donor Human Milk. “Yashoda” Advanced Human Milk Bank & Comprehensive Lactation Management, Training and Reasearch Centre was established on 31st January 2019 with the help of Rotary Club of Nigdi-Pune through Global Grant of Rotary International who donated advanced equipments like Automated Pasteuriser, Sonicator etc. The incidence of neonatal morbidity, mainly sepsis and necrotising entercolitis has significantly reduced as per studies done in DYP and feedback from various neonatologists and pediatricians.

Present on the occassion were patron Dr. Dilip Kamat, WDW Chairman Dr.Shubhangi Kothari, President elect Dr. Vijay Satav, WDW Vice Chairman Dr.Daksha Nirhale and executive committee members Dr. Anuradha Dyanmote, Dr.Trupti Tonpe, Dr.Shilpy Dolas, Dr. Sonali Satav, Dr.Shradha and staff of Gynaecology department.
